Alternative industrial use
Placing material where the deviation is irrelevant — technical, industrial or non-food applications.
Recovery · Recycling · Disposal
Where cargo no longer has a commercially viable market, the objective changes: limit exposure, satisfy regulation and release the asset.
Pommer & Partners organises recycling, recovery, alternative industrial use, destruction and legally compliant disposal for cargo that cannot be resold. We coordinate the commercial side with local processors, licensed waste operators, terminals and transport providers.
Disposal is our last option, not our first. Before recommending destruction we test whether a downgraded grade, a different market, reconditioning or an industrial application can still recover part of the value — which is usually the better result for insurers and cargo interests alike.
Where destruction is required, the process can be documented for underwriters, adjusters, brand owners and authorities.
Objective
Recover value. Reduce exposure. Release the asset.
Placing material where the deviation is irrelevant — technical, industrial or non-food applications.
Separation and reprocessing of packaging, polymers, metals and mineral fractions.
Biogas, composting and waste-to-energy routes for organic and mixed cargo.
Documented destruction where required by contract, insurer, brand owner or authority.
Licensed waste handling in line with environmental, waste and local regulation.
Removal planning so holds, containers, terminals and warehouses are released quickly.

How we work
Recover value. Reduce exposure. Release the asset.
A disciplined framework adapted to the commercial and regulatory circumstances of each file.
Cargo details, location, condition, photographs, survey reports and available analyses are received.
Condition, title, customs status, applicable regulation and realistic alternative uses are assessed.
Direct purchase, salvage sale, remarketing, recovery, recycling or disposal is selected according to the case.
The agreed transaction or recovery route is coordinated with the relevant parties.
Final documents, disposal or recovery evidence and the commercial outcome are reported.
Trust & compliance
Transactions and services are subject to verification and applicable regulation, including:
Purchases and sales require evidence of ownership and authority to sell, or the written authority of the insurer or party entitled to dispose of the cargo. Recovery, recycling and disposal routes depend on waste classification and on applicable environmental, transport and customs rules in the countries involved. Potential alternative use of food or agricultural cargo, including animal-feed applications, depends on cargo condition, laboratory results and applicable food and feed legislation, and is only pursued where the competent authorities and the relevant rules allow it.
