We start from the reason for refusal.
Pommer & Partners buys and remarkets refused cargo worldwide — consignments turned away by receivers, quality departments or authorities at the port of discharge, at transshipment or on delivery. Where the position allows it we act as principal buyer; otherwise we structure a salvage sale or arrange recovery.
The commercial question is whether the deviation that caused the refusal matters in another market, at another grade, or to a processor able to blend, refine, recondition or repack. Very often it does not, and the consignment can be placed with a different buyer rather than written off.
Closely related work is set out under rejected cargo buyers, damaged cargo buyers and worldwide abandoned cargo buyers where a refusal has turned into an abandonment.
